Pus de 2.000 personnes ont assist\u00e9 ce mardi 28 octobre 2014 aux c\u00e9r\u00e9monies comm\u00e9moratives du centenaire de cette Grande Guerre \u00e0 Nieuport puis \u00e0 Ypres.<\/p>\n<p>A Nieuport, la c\u00e9r\u00e9monie a dur\u00e9 une petite heure durant laquelle les personnalit\u00e9s se sont succ\u00e9d\u00e9. \u00ab\u00a0<em>Un peuple montre sa grandeur lorsqu\u2019il d\u00e9fend ses valeurs\u00a0<\/em>\u00bb, a affirm\u00e9 le Roi Philippe de Belgique lors de son discours, \u00e9voquant la r\u00e9sistance de l\u2019arm\u00e9e belge face aux troupes allemandes pendant le premier conflit mondial. Il a ensuite laiss\u00e9 la parole \u00e0 Angela Merkel qui l\u2019a remerci\u00e9 pour l\u2019invitation et a soulign\u00e9 qu\u2019\u00ab\u00a0<em>en prenant en compte tout ce qui s\u2019\u00e9tait pass\u00e9, toutes les souffrances que les Allemands ont inflig\u00e9es aux Belges lors des deux Guerres mondiales, (&#8230;) cette invitation n\u2019\u00e9tait pas acquise<\/em>\u00a0\u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">Deux heures plus tard, la c\u00e9r\u00e9monie d\u00e9bute \u00e0 la porte de Menin \u00e0 Ypres. Le monument devant lequel est jou\u00e9 chaque jour le \u00ab Last Post \u00bb en m\u00e9moire des soldats tomb\u00e9s durant la Grande Guerre. Les rues de la ville historique d\u2019Ypres ont r\u00e9sonn\u00e9 au son des musiques militaires. Y \u00e9taient pr\u00e9sents : le Roi Philippe et la Reine Mathilde de Belgique, l\u2019ancienne Reine B\u00e9atrix des Pays-Bas, le Grand Duc Henri de Luxembourg, la Chanceli\u00e8re Angela Merkel, le gouverneur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral du Canada, les pr\u00e9sidents hongrois et maltais, le premier ministre belge Charles Michel, ainsi que de nombreux autres dignitaires sont venus du monde entier.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Le Premier ministre, Charles Michel, a notamment \u00e9t\u00e9 remarqu\u00e9 pour son discours. \u00ab La paix a un prix et suppose des investissements de la part de chacun. Nous avons la responsabilit\u00e9 de maintenir le dialogue entre les peuples. Combattons les \u00e9go\u00efsmes, les extr\u00e9mismes. N\u2019oublions jamais ces hommes et femmes morts pour la libert\u00e9 \u00bb, a- t-il d\u00e9clar\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Les temps forts ici furent la m\u00e9ditation commune des repr\u00e9sentants des religions et de la la\u00efcit\u00e9 et l\u2019intervention du gouverneur du Canada, David Johnston. Parmi les repr\u00e9sentants des religions il y avait un discours de Son Eminence le M\u00e9tropolite Ath\u00e9nagoras de Belgique, responsable de tous les orthodoxes en Belgique, qui a rappel\u00e9 \u00e0 la voie de l\u2019injustice et de l\u2019exploitation, de la guerre et de la violence. \u00ab Ce qui c\u2019est pass\u00e9 ici d\u00e9passe largement l\u2019imagination. Jamais dans l\u2019histoire de l\u2019humanit\u00e9, des actes d\u2019une telle ampleur n\u2019avaient \u00e9t\u00e9 perp\u00e9tr\u00e9s. Cette guerre aura co\u00fbt\u00e9 la vie \u00e0 des millions d\u2019\u00eatres humains, surtout \u00e0 des jeunes. Et \u00e0 encore plus de civils. Voici pour laquelle la \u2018Grande Guerre \u00bb porte ce nom.
