Dans son allocution d\u2019ouverture, le M\u00e9tropolite a rappel\u00e9 la vocation de l\u2019Institut, qui poursuit depuis 2013 sa mission d\u2019enseignement th\u00e9ologique orthodoxe \u00e0 Bruxelles. D\u00e8s sa fondation, l\u2019Institut s\u2019est donn\u00e9 pour objectif non seulement de contribuer \u00e0 la formation des professeurs de religion orthodoxe, du clerg\u00e9, des cat\u00e9chistes et des responsables eccl\u00e9siaux, mais \u00e9galement d\u2019\u00eatre un lieu de rencontre et de dialogue entre l\u2019Orthodoxie et la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 contemporaine, \u00ab entre la foi et la science, entre la R\u00e9v\u00e9lation et la recherche \u00bb.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le M\u00e9tropolite Ath\u00e9nagoras a particuli\u00e8rement insist\u00e9 sur&nbsp;<strong>une nouvelle \u00e9tape qui s\u2019ouvre pour l\u2019Institut<\/strong>, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la collaboration s\u00e9rieuse et prometteuse engag\u00e9e avec la Facult\u00e9 de th\u00e9ologie de l\u2019<strong>UCLouvain<\/strong>. Celle-ci devrait offrir aux \u00e9tudiants de nouvelles perspectives en mati\u00e8re de reconnaissance acad\u00e9mique de leur formation et leur permettre de poursuivre leurs \u00e9tudes et leurs recherches dans le domaine des sciences th\u00e9ologiques.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00c0 cette occasion, le M\u00e9tropolite a salu\u00e9 tout particuli\u00e8rement la pr\u00e9sence du&nbsp;<strong>Doyen de la Facult\u00e9 de th\u00e9ologie de l\u2019UCLouvain<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Professeur Dr. Olivier Riaudel<\/strong>, ainsi que celle du&nbsp;<strong>Professeur Dr Christos Arabatzis<\/strong>, de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Aristote de Thessalonique. Ce dernier a accept\u00e9 d\u2019enseigner la patrologie et d\u2019assumer d\u00e9sormais la responsabilit\u00e9 de&nbsp;<strong>directeur des \u00e9tudes de l\u2019Institut<\/strong>. Le M\u00e9tropolite a \u00e9galement exprim\u00e9 sa reconnaissance au directeur, aux professeurs, aux charg\u00e9s de cours et \u00e0 toutes les personnes qui assurent b\u00e9n\u00e9volement le fonctionnement de l\u2019Institut.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Un moment particulier de la c\u00e9r\u00e9monie fut la remise, par le M\u00e9tropolite Ath\u00e9nagoras, de son&nbsp;<strong>dipl\u00f4me \u00e0 M. Konstantinos Garofalou<\/strong>, secr\u00e9taire de l\u2019Archev\u00each\u00e9 Orthodoxe de Belgique et candidat au diaconat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">L\u2019Archipr\u00eatre&nbsp;<strong>Konstantinos Kenanidis<\/strong>&nbsp;prit ensuite la parole pour pr\u00e9senter le programme de la nouvelle ann\u00e9e acad\u00e9mique et les nouvelles perspectives qui s\u2019ouvrent pour l\u2019Institut. Il \u00e9voqua notamment le d\u00e9veloppement d\u2019une collaboration plus \u00e9troite avec la Facult\u00e9 de th\u00e9ologie de l\u2019UCLouvain, ainsi que les liens et collaborations avec l\u2019<strong>Institut de Th\u00e9ologie Orthodoxe Saint-Serge<\/strong>&nbsp;et le&nbsp;<strong>Centre Dumitru St\u00e3niloae<\/strong>&nbsp;\u00e0 Paris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La partie acad\u00e9mique de la soir\u00e9e se poursuivit par la conf\u00e9rence inaugurale du&nbsp;<strong>Professeur Dr Christos Arabatzis<\/strong>, professeur de litt\u00e9rature chr\u00e9tienne \u00e0 la Facult\u00e9 de Th\u00e9ologie de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Aristote de Thessalonique. Sous le titre&nbsp;<strong>\u00ab L\u2019intemporalit\u00e9 des textes patristiques \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e8re num\u00e9rique \u00bb<\/strong>, le professeur Arabatzis proposa une r\u00e9flexion particuli\u00e8rement actuelle sur la pertinence et la port\u00e9e de la pens\u00e9e des P\u00e8res de l\u2019\u00c9glise dans un monde profond\u00e9ment transform\u00e9 par le num\u00e9rique et, notamment, par le d\u00e9veloppement de&nbsp;<strong>l\u2019intelligence artificielle<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La conf\u00e9rence fut suivie d\u2019un \u00e9change anim\u00e9 avec le public sous forme de questions et r\u00e9ponses. La soir\u00e9e s\u2019acheva par une r\u00e9ception fraternelle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Comme le souligna le M\u00e9tropolite Ath\u00e9nagoras dans son allocution, une institution th\u00e9ologique ne vit pas seulement \u00ab de programmes, de cours et de dipl\u00f4mes \u00bb, mais avant tout d\u2019une communaut\u00e9 convaincue que la th\u00e9ologie a encore \u00ab quelque chose d\u2019essentiel \u00e0 dire \u00e0 l\u2019homme et \u00e0 la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de notre temps \u00bb.
