\nSinds de wet van 17 april 1985 is de Orthodoxe Kerk door de Belgische Staat erkend als offici\u00eble eredienst (cf. Belgisch Staatsblad van zaterdag 11 mei 1985 – 155e jaargang, nr.91).
\n
\nOrganisatie van de Orthodoxe Eredienst<\/b><\/p>\n

\nHet Koninklijk Besluit van 15 maart 1988 (cf. Belgisch Staatsblad van donderdag 31 maart 1988 – 158e jaargang, nr.63) voorziet de organisatie van de raden van de Kerkfabrieken van de orthodoxe eredienst.<\/p>\n

\nZo bepaalt dit K.B. dat de betrekkingen met de burgerlijke overheid verzekerd worden door een representatief orgaan van het geheel van de Orthodoxe Kerk. Het regelt tevens de organisatie van de besturen eigen aan de orthodoxe eredienst op basis van het grondgebied van de provincie. Het maakt evenwel de oprichting mogelijk van verschillende kerkfabriekraden op het grondgebied van een zelfde provincie of van een kerkfabriekraad op het grondgebied van meer dan \u00eb\u00ebn provincie.

\nRepresentatief orgaan voor het geheel van de Orthodoxe Kerk<\/b><\/p>\n

\nHet 1ste artikel van ditzelfde K.B. van 15 maart 1988 (cf. supra) bepaalt dat het representatief orgaan voor de ganse Orthodoxe Kerk de Metropoliet-Aartsbisschop van het Oecumenisch Patriarchaat van Konstantinopel is; letterlijk:<\/p>\n

‘De Metropoliet-Aartsbisschop van het Oecumenisch Patriarchaat van Konstantinopel of zijn plaatsvervanger wordt door Ons erkend als representatief orgaan van het geheel van de Orthodoxe Kerk’\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0(Hfdst. I – artikel 1).<\/p>\n
