Hij studeerde van 1928 tot 1934 aan het Theologisch Instituut van Halki. Tijdens zijn laatste jaar in Halki werd hij door Metropoliet Benjamin van Heraklia tot diaken gewijd.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Op 16 januari 1937 werd hij benoemd tot onder-secretaris van de Heilige Synode van het Oecumenisch Patriarchaat. Op 20 maart 1938 werd hij\u00a0door Metropoliet\u00a0Germanos van Sardes tot priester gewijd in de kerk van de Heilige Drie-eenheid in Pera.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Na zijn priesterwijding verhuisde Vader Polyevktos naar de Verenigde Staten en war hij als priester diende in een aantal parochies. Hij diende eerst vier jaar in Perth Amboy (New Jersey), vervolgens drie jaar in de kerk van de H. Dimitrios in Astoria (New York). Terwijl hij in de Parochie van de H. Dimitrios was, gaf Vader\u00a0Polyevktos ook les\u00a0aan het Theologisch Instituut van het Heilig Kruis, toen nog in Pomfret, Connecticut. Van 1944 tot 1955 was hij de decaan van de Kathedraal van de Boodschap van de Moeder Gods in San Francisco, Californi\u00eb. Naast zijn reguliere verantwoordelijkheden bij de kathedraal organiseerde hij gedurende negen jaar een radioprogramma, publiceerde hij een orthodox tijdschrift en stichtte hij een orthodox-instituut.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Op 11 oktober 1955 werd Polyevktos door de Heilige Synode van het Oecumenisch Patriarchaat tot\u00a0Bisschop van Tropaia verkozen\u00a0en toegewezen als\u00a0hulpbisschop aan Aartsbisschop Michael van Amerika. Hij werd op 3 november 1955 gewijd in de Kathedraal van de H. Nikolaas in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania door Aartsbisschop Michael en de\u00a0bishoppen Theodosios van Evkarpia, Athenagoras van\u00a0Elaia, en Ezekiel van Nazianze, en werd hij aangeduid\u00a0om te dienen als de hulpbisschop van het Zesde\u00a0District van het Aartsbisdom, nl. in de regio van Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 1960 werd Bisschop Polyevktos\u00a0verheven\u00a0tot de rang van Metropoliet en vervolgens overgeplaatst naar Zuid-Amerika, waar hij tot begin 1963 diende. Op 5 februari 1963, verkoos de Heilige Synode van Constantinopel hem als de eerste bisschop van het nieuw gecre\u00eberde Aartsbisdom van Duitsland en Exarch van Nederland en Denemarken. In juni 1968 werd hij verkozen tot Metropoliet van Heliopolis en Theira, en vervolgens werd hij in augustus 1969 de eerste Metropoliet van het nieuwe Aartsbisdom\u00a0van Zweden. In april 1974 werd\u00a0Metropoliet\u00a0Polyevktos gekozen tot Metropoliet van\u00a0Aneon. Later ging hij\u00a0met pensioen en vestigde hij zich in Athene.
