In 1936 behaalde hij een Master in Theologie aan de Theologische School van Halki. In 1937 wijdt Metropoliet Emilianos van Philadelphia hem tot diaken voor de Parochie van de HH. Constantijn en Helena in Constantinopel. Hij diende later als diaken in het Patriarchaat. In 1951 benoemde Oecumenisch Patriarch Athenagoras \u2013 eeuwige Gedachtenis &#8211; hem de Groot-Kanselier van het Oecumenisch Patriarchaat en wijdde hem tot het priesterschap.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 1959 werd hij door de Heilige Synode van het Oecumenisch Patriarchaat tot Metropoliet van Selevkia gekozen. Zijn wijding vond plaats op 12 juni 1959 en werd geleid door Patriarch Athenagoras, bijgestaan \u200b\u200bdoor de Metropolieten Thomas van Chalcedon, Iakovos van Derka, Leontios van Theodoropolis, Konstantinos van Irinoupolis, Filotheos van Prikonisos en Iakovos van Philadelphia. Enkele jaren later werd hij lid van de Heilige Synode van het Patriarchaat, tot 21 april 1964, toen hij verbannen werd uit Turkije. Toen het Patriarchaat in 1969 het Aartsbisdom van Belgi\u00eb en het Exarchaat van Nederland en Luxemburg oprichtte, werd hij tot zijn eerste metropoliet gekozen. Zijn intronisatie vond plaats op 11 november 1969 in de Kathedraal van de HH. Aartsengelen in Brussel.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hij legde de basis voor het nieuw opgerichte Aartsbisdom van Belgi\u00eb, bogend op de grote ervaring die hij had als Groot Vicaris-Generaal van het Oecumenisch Patriarchaat. Hij stichtte nieuwe parochies, kocht huizen waarin kapellen werden gehuisvest en een instituut waar de Griekse school werd gevestigd. In Belgi\u00eb onderhield hij goede contacten met de andere christelijke kerken, maar probeerde hij offici\u00eble erkenning te krijgen van de orthodoxe kerk door samen te werken met vertegenwoordigers van de verschillende orthodoxe jurisdicties. Tijdens zijn periode in Belgi\u00eb wijdde hij twee hulp-bisschoppen: in 1974 bisschop Panteleimon van Apollonia (later Metropoliet van Belgi\u00eb) en in 1977 bisschop Maximos van Evmenia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In december 1982 werd hij door de heilige synode overgeplaatst naar het Aartsbisdom van Kos. In 2009 nam Metropoliet Emilianos ontslag als Metropoliet van Kos en Nisyros en ging met pensioen in Athene. Hij ontsliep in de Heer op 8 september 2011. Zijn begrafenis werd gehouden op 10 september in de kerk van de H.
