Deze had plaats tijdens de Dienst van de Vespers, voorgegaan door Zijne Eminentie Metropoliet Athenagoras van Belgi\u00eb en Exarch van Nederland en Luxemburg en in aanwezigheid van vele priesters en diakens, andere monialen en een menigte van gelovigen.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span lang=\"el\" xml:lang=\"el\">Moeder Johanna werd verkozen door de monialen van het Klooster op 2 augustus 2016, na de veertigste dag van nagedachtenis van het ontslapen van de betreurde Moeder Maria. Moeder Johanna, die afkomstig is uit de Verenigde Staten, was de eerste die zich vervoegde bij Moeder Maria in het Klooster in Asten.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span lang=\"el\" xml:lang=\"el\">In zijn toespraak vroeg Zijne Eminentie Metropoliet Athenagoras o.m. van : \u201c<em>vooral in eendracht samen te blijven, onder het nieuwe herderschap van Moeder Johanna, en van verder te willen bidden voor de redding van de gehele wereld, doorheen de zo mooie liturgische diensten en de rijkdom van het ascetische gebedsleven van onze Orthodoxe Kerk. In de Kerk zijn er vele charismen, en het is door Gods\u2019 genade dat u, Moeder Johanna, het charisma ontvangt om het werk van Moeder Maria verder te zetten. Wees goed en barmhartig, zoals God algoed en menslievend is! Wees geduldig en vergevensgezind, zoals God altijd op ons blijft wachten en verdraagt wat wij misdoen! Weet dat u niet alleen bent in deze nieuwe taak die voortaan op uw schouders rust, maar dat u altijd overleg kan plegen met uw metropoliet en\/of met uw geestelijke vader. Blijf trouw aan de Moeder-Kerk van Constantinopel. Ik vertrouw erop dat God u voldoende zal sterken en dat uw mede-zusters u moeilijkheden gaan willen besparen. Zij zijn het immers die u voorgedragen hebben tot deze opdracht, vertrouwend dat u dat zal doen in vreze Gods, in geloof en met liefde!\u00a0<\/em>\u201c<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span lang=\"el\" xml:lang=\"el\">Nadien volgde een gebed over de nieuwe Abdis, die werd voorgedragen door Moeder Makrina en Zuster Tha\u00efsia. Metropoliet deed de nieuwe Abdis vervolgens de mandya aan, het borstkruis, leidde haar naar de abdistroon en vertrouwde haar de herdersstaf, telkens onder de kreet \u2018<em>Axia<\/em>\u2019 (zij is waardig)!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span lang=\"el\" xml:lang=\"el\">Bij het einde van de Dienst vroeg Metropoliet Athenagoras om allen samen een trisagion te zingen aan het graf van Moeder Maria.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span lang=\"el\" xml:lang=\"el\">Er volgde een gezellig samenzijn in de tuin en het archondariki van het Klooster, waar de aanwezigen lekkernijen werden aangeboden.
