Op uitnodiging van Zijne Alheiligheid Oecumenisch Patriarch Bartholomeos had in het Orthodox Centrum van het Oecumenisch Patriarchaat te Chamb\u00e9sy bij Gen\u00e8ve, van 21 tot 28 januari 2016 de Synaxis plaats van de Orthodoxe Autocefale Kerkleiders.

Aartsbisschop Chrys\u00f3stomos van Cyprus<\/span><\/p>\n

Aartsbisschop Anastas van Albani\u00eb\u00a0<\/span>et<\/span><\/p>\n

en Aartsbisschop Rastislav van Tsjechi\u00eb en Slovakije.<\/span><\/p>\n

Terwijl de volgende verhinderd waren: Hunne Zaligheden Patriarch Youhanna van Antiochi\u00eb, en Metropoliet Savva van Warschau en Geheel Polen, wegens ziekte, en Aartsbisschop Hier\u00f3nymos van Athene en Geheel Griekenland, om persoonlijke redenen, maar vertegenwoordigd door offici\u00eble afvaardigingen van hun Kerken.<\/span><\/p>\n

De Orthodoxe Kerkleiders kwamen samen om de teksten af te werken voor het Heilig en Groot Concilie. In het kader van de Synaxis werd op zondag 24 januari in de Stavropegieke Heilige Pauluskerk een Goddelijke Liturgie gevierd, voorgegaan door de Oecumenische Patriarch, samen met Hunne Zaligheden en de hoofden van de afvaardigingen van de Orthodoxe Kerken, behalve het hoofd van de vertegenwoordiging van de Kerk van Antiochi\u00eb.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tijdens de Synaxis \u201cspraken\u201d de leden \u201cde waarheid in liefde<\/em>\u201d volgens de apostel (Ef. 4:15), en voltrok haar werk zich in een geest van eensgezindheid en begrip. De Kerkleiders bevestigden hun besluit om het Heilig en Groot Concilie bijeen te roepen. Dat zal plaatsvinden in de Orthodoxe Academie van Kreta (OAK) van 16 tot 27 juni 2016. Met dat vooruitzicht roepen de Kerkleiders nederig de genade en zegen van de Drie-Ene God af, en vragen de hele Kerk, geestelijken en leken, om vurig te bidden tijdens de periode die voorafgaat aan het Heilig en Groot Concilie en tijdens diens werking.<\/span><\/p>\n

De officieel goedgekeurde onderwerpen voor onderzoek en goedkeuring door het Heilig en Groot Concilie zijn:\u00a0\u201cDe missie van de Orthodoxe Kerk in de hedendaagse wereld; De Orthodoxe Diaspora, De Autonomie en de wijze om die af te kondigen; Het sacrament van het Huwelijk en zijn belemmeringen; De betekenis van het Vasten en zijn naleving vandaag; Verhoudingen tussen de Orthodoxe Kerk en de overige christelijke wereld\u201d<\/em>. Bij besluit van de Kerkleiders, worden alle goedgekeurde teksten uitgegeven.<\/span><\/p>\n

De Kerkleiders bespraken en bepaalden ook de oprichting van het Panorthodox Secretariaat, het reglement van het Concilie, de deelname van heterodoxe waarnemers bij de openings- en slotzittingen, en de dekking van de uitgaven van het Concilie.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bovendien drukten de Kerkleiders hun steun uit voor de vervolgde Christenen in het Midden-Oosten en hun voortdurende bezorgdheid door de ontvoering van twee Metropolieten, Boulos (Paul) Yazigi van het Patriarchaat van Antiochi\u00eb, en Gregorios Yohanna Ibrahim van de Syrisch-jacobitische kerk.<\/span><\/p>\n

De werkzaamheden van de Synaxis werden afgesloten op woensdagavond 27 januari 2016, met de afscheidsrede van haar Voorzitter, Zijne Alheiligheid Oecumenisch Patriarch Bartholomeos.<\/span><\/p>\n
