Dit bezoek ontroerde Zijne Alheiligheid diep, en bracht hem de tijd in herinnering toen hij, als student aan het Instituut voor Theologie van Halki, het dagboek van Anne Franck had gelezen.Bij zijn aankomst in Den Haag werd hij tijdens een offici\u00eble maaltijd hartelijk begroet door de Griekse ambassadeur, de heer Nikolaos Plexidas. De nieuwe ambassadeur van Griekenland in Nederland dankte de Oecumenische Patriarch in zijn welkomstwoord voor zijn aanwezigheid en vroeg om zijn zegen voor het begin van zijn carri\u00e8re.<br \/>\nVandaag, vrijdag 8 november, ontmoet Zijne Alheiligheid de leden van de Senaat.
