Voor het eerst sinds 1983 kon de interorthodoxe viering, als een bevoorrecht moment waarop de orthodoxe hi\u00ebrarchen van Belgi\u00eb, verscheidene koren en vele gelovigen elkaar de voorbije jaren ontmoetten, niet plaatsvinden.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Zijne Eminentie verwees in zijn homilie naar de betekenis van de Zondag van de Orthodoxie en wat Orthodoxie betekent in het leven van een christen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Het einde van de goddelijke liturgie werd gevolgd door de iconenprocessie in de kerk en de lezing van het synodikon van de orthodoxie door Zijne Eminentie.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vervolgens en op verzoek van de rector van de kathedraal, aartspriester Athanasios Toparlakis, benoemde Zijne Eminentie de student Konstantinos Garofallou als lezer, die steeds vrijwillig meehelpt in het heiligdom.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ten slotte dankte Zijne Eminentie de Ambassadeur van Griekenland in Belgi\u00eb, Zijne Excellentie de heer Dionysios Kalamvrezos, en de Consul-generaal van Griekenland in Brussel, de heer Vassilios Zarbalis, voor hun aanwezigheid, evenals de rector van de parochie voor zijn werk, waarbij hij ook de via videoconferentie aanwezige gelovigen vroeg om hem bij dit werk te steunen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Op 21 maart 2021, Zondag van de Orthodoxie, vierde Zijne Eminentie Metropoliet Athenagoras van Belgi\u00eb en Exarch van Nederland en Luxemburg de Goddelijke Liturgie in de Kathedraal van de Heilige Aartsengelen in Brussel, in overeenstemming met de beperkings- en beschermingsmaatregelen die in Belgi\u00eb van kracht zijn om de verspreiding van de coronavirus-pandemie te voorkomen.
