Gedurende de Vespers sprak de Aartsdiaken van het Heilig Aartsbisdom, v. Fil\u00e1delfos Kafal\u00eds, de homilie uit. \u2003<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span lang=\"el\" xml:lang=\"el\">Op de hoogdag werden de Feestelijke Metten gevierd, en vervolgens de Bisschoppelijke Goddelijke Liturgie, voorgegaan door Metropoliet Athenagoras. \u2003<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span lang=\"el\" xml:lang=\"el\">Tijdens zijn homilie verhaalde Zijne Eminentie het leven en martelaarschap van de Heilige Marina, en de grootsheid van haar Heiligheid, die het levensdoel van elke gelovige moet worden. Hij diepte de betekenis en het wezen van de Heilige verder uit, en benadrukte daarbij haar belang voor de mensen vandaag bij hun strijd om de Heiligheid te winnen: door geloof in Christus, voortdurende belijdenis van hun geloof tegenover de wereld, en tenslotte door de strijd in gemeenschap met God en Zijn Heiligen.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span lang=\"el\" xml:lang=\"el\">Op het einde van de Goddelijke Liturgie bedankte Zijne Eminentie de Rector van de Parochie, Aartspriester Dim\u00edtrios Stamat\u00e1kis, die al ongeveer twintig jaar met eerbied en ijver werkt voor het welzijn van deze Parochie in de stad Brussel. Vervolgens bedankte hij de bezoekende priesters van de overige parochies in de stad, evenals de gelovigen die zich haastten om de Heilige Marina en het heilig hoogfeest te eren. \u2003<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span lang=\"el\" xml:lang=\"el\">Onder de talrijke kerkgangers bevonden zich vertegenwoordigers van het Griekse Leger, geleid door Generaal Nik\u00f3laos Zachari\u00e1dis, een trouwe parochiaan die vele malen deze parochie aan de koorstaander diende, Archon Protonot\u00e1rios Konstant\u00ednos Vamvak\u00e1s en zijn feestende echtgenote Marina, evenals de medewerkers van de Europese Instellingen, die zich vlak bij de kerk van de Heilige Marina bevinden. \u2003<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span lang=\"el\" xml:lang=\"el\">Na het einde van de Goddelijke Liturgie, was er een receptie in de aanpalende parochiezaal.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vol luister werd het jaarlijkse feest gevierd van de Parochie van de Heilige Grootmartelares Marina te Brussel. \u2003 Op zondagavond 16 juli werden de Grote Feestelijke Vespers met Broodwijding gevierd, vanop de troon voorgegaan door Zijne Eminentie Metropoliet Athenagoras van Belgi\u00eb en Exarch van Nederland en Luxemburg.
