Jean-Claude Polet, emeritus hoogleraar aan de Universit\u00e9 Catholique de Louvain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zuster Magdalena sprak over de leringen van de Heilige Silouan, die volgens haar een groot theoloog is \u2014 niet in academische zin, maar door zijn persoonlijk contact met Christus en zijn ascetisch en heilig leven. Professor Polet belichtte vervolgens de betekenis van de Heilige Silouan voor de christenen van West-Europa vandaag, waarbij hij de brug sloeg tussen het monastieke ideaal en het leven in de hedendaagse samenleving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De bijeenkomst trok een groot publiek en werd gevolgd door een levendig en diepgaand debat, dat getuigde van de blijvende actualiteit van de boodschap van de
