De Zondag van de Orthodoxie werd in het Heilig Aartsbisdom van Belgi\u00eb met luister gevierd.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Op zondag 5 maart 2017 werd in de Heilige Aartsengelenkathedraal te Brussel een Interorthodoxe Liturgie gevierd, voorgegaan door Zijne Eminentie Metropoliet Athenagoras van Belgi\u00eb en Exarch van Nederland en Luxemburg, samen met Aartsbisschop Simon (Patriarchaat van Moskou), Koorbisschop Porf\u00fdrios van Ne\u00e1polis (Kerk van Cyprus) en vele geestelijken van de orthodoxe gemeenschappen in Belgi\u00eb.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

De vijf koren (Grieks, Roemeens, Pools, Georgisch en Nederlands) verzorgden elk op bijzondere wijze de gezangen van de Goddelijke Liturgie, volgens hun verschillende talen en tradities.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Tussen de menigte kerkgangers vielen Hare Excellentie de Ambassadeur van Griekenland, mevr. Elefther\u00eda Galathian\u00e1ki, en de Griekse Militaire Afvaardiging bij de NAVO in Evere, geleid door Generaal Nik\u00f3laos Zachari\u00e1dis op.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

De Archonten van het Heilig Aartsbisdom Belgi\u00eb waren eveneens aanwezig, geleid door dhr. Ge\u00f3rgios P\u00e9trou.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

De homilie werd uitgesproken door de Zeer Eerwaarde Heer Aartspriester Heikki Huttunen, Secretaris-Generaal van de K.E.K., die de grootsheid van de Orthodoxie aanhaalde, die binnen haar multiculturalisme verenigd blijft in de gemeenschappelijke Heilige Kelk en haar Eucharistisch Offer. Die eenheid is een getuigenis voor de hedendaagse wereld die nood heeft aan vrede en hoop.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Aan deze grote en vreugdevolle dag van het kerkelijk jaar, een dag van eenheid en getuigenis van de eenheid van de orthodoxie, werden nog twee belangrijke gebeurtenissen toegevoegd.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Ten eerste de wijding tot diaken van een beloftevolle geestelijke: v. Ant\u00f3nios Tarl\u00edzos, die een in Antwerpen geboren Griek is, gehuwd en vader van drie kinderen, en toegevoegd wordt aan de ploeg van het Aartsbisdom van Belgi\u00eb.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Zijne Eminentie Metropoliet Athenagoras van Belgi\u00eb benadrukte het belang van het antwoord van de pasgewijde op de roep van God en de Kerk, die hij tot nog toe vanaf de koorstaander diende. Die gebeurtenis maakte de hoogdag van de Orthodoxie nog luisterrijker.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Op het einde van de Goddelijke Liturgie had er in de kerk een processie plaats met heilige ikonen, en de lezing van het Synodikon van de Orthodoxie.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

De tweede belangrijke gebeurtenis van de dag was de aanstelling van de Hooggeleerde Heer Konstant\u00ednos Vamvak\u00e1s als Archon Protonot\u00e1rios van de Heilige en Grote Kerk van Christus.
\nDe nieuwe Archon richtte kort zijn warme dank tot Oecumenisch Patriarch Bartholomeos voor de eer om opgenomen te worden in de kring van de Archonten van de Oecumenische Troon, tot Metropoliet Athenagoras om de vreugde van de handoplegging, en beloofde zijn ondersteuning verder te zetten bij het moeilijke werk van het Aartsbisdom.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

6Na het einde van de Goddelijke Liturgie volgde een receptie met dansgroepen uit Griekenland, Rusland, Roemeni\u00eb, Bulgarije en Georgi\u00eb, die dansen en liederen brachten volgens de traditie van elk land.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
