Προσευχόμεθα υπέρ της ενότητος της Ορθοδόξου Εκκλησίας

Μὲ μεγάλην θλίψιν ἐπληροφορήθημεν τὴν ἀπόφασιν τῆς Ἱερᾶς Συνόδου τοῦ Πατριαρχείου Μόσχας τῆς 15ης Ὀκτωβρίου 2018. Προσευχόμεθα μὲ θέρμην περισσήν «διὰ τὴν εὐστάθειαν καὶ ἑνότητα τῶν τοῦ Θεοῦ Ἁγίων Ἐκκλησιῶν». Τὸ Οἰκουμενικὸν Πατριαρχεῖον εἰς τὴν δικαιοδοσίαν τοῦ ὁποίου ἀνήκει ἡ Ἱερὰ Μητρόπολίς μας δὲν διέκοψε τὴν κοινωνίαν μετὰ τοῦ Πατριαρχείου Μόσχας καὶ συνεχίζει νὰ μνημονεύῃ τὸν Μακαριώτατον Πατριάρχην Μόσχας κ. Κύριλλον εἰς τὰ Δίπτυχα τῆς Ὀρθοδόξου Ἐκκλησίας. Τοῦτο σημαίνει ὅτι ὅλοι οἱ ὀρθόδοξοι χριστιανοί εἶναι εὐπρόσδεκτοι νὰ συμμετάσχουν εἰς τὴν λειτουργικὴν καὶ μυστηριακὴν ζωὴν τῶν ἐνοριῶν μας.

And let us pray every day of our lives:

Behold, how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
O Lord Jesus Christ our God, head of the Church that is Your Body, who prayed for Your disciples to the Father, “That they all may be one; as You, Father, are in me, and I in You, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that You has sent me”: We confess that Your Church is the One, Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church and cannot be divided; we mourn for all who separate themselves from Her, and we pray that You may make all schisms to cease. We put not our trust in princes, nor in the sons of men, in whom there is no salvation; rather, we put all our hope in You, and we beseech You: send Your Holy Spirit to guide us to share the word of Your truth, and that we may bear witness to the unity of the Church in our lives. Preserve us, O Lord, from the evil one and all his attempts to divide us, and from the sin of pride. Heal the wounds caused by our lack of love, and fill us with love for one another as brothers and sisters in Christ. Keep us in Your truth; Your Word is truth. To You, and to the Father, and to the Holy Spirit we ascribe all praise, honour, and glory, now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
